early intervention (ages 0-3)
Early intervention services are available for FREE for young children who have developmental delays or disabilities. They are often done in the child's home but may be done in other locations as well. Early intervention is funded through Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Each state has their own early intervention program. You can find YOUR early intervention program here:

When you participate in early intervention your child will get what is called an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). This is designed to provide a written document of what services and supports the child needs and will receive.

Your pediatrician might suggest contacting Early Intervention. But you can also reach out to an Early Intervention program on your own. You can contact the office in your state and tell them “I have concerns about my child’s development and I would like to have my child evaluated to find out if he/she is eligible for early intervention services.”
